Adoption Dogs

By Mydogleo on Tue 09 Mar 2010 08:27 PM GMT

I was looking at the Dogs Trust website and I am astounded to read that they even look after dogs that do not like to be around humans. The Trust has a place they call the sanctuary, they have a large field with a shelter and the dogs make their own friendship in a pack as they do in nature. There are two carers who look after the dogs welfare and make sure that all their veterinary needs are taken care of and provide food. Other than that they are left to get on their lives without having to worry about humans.

I found this absolutely brilliant and I applaud the total commitment to Dog care that the Dogs Trust take, what a wonderful organisation it puts the RSPCA to shame. The RSPCA by the way have been fund raising North of the border in Scotland for years and yet they do not operate at all in Scotland

Still I am not taking away from the good work the RSCA do with all types of animal....even cats...yuk

Winter is nearly over

By Mydogleo on Sat 06 Mar 2010 07:49 PM GMT

The first signs of spring are here and it is wonderful as we had a cold winter. I am looking forward to some sunny dry days.

Now is the time to start thinking about booking your dogs place in the kennels if you plan to go away in the summer. Remember also that with warmer your dogs little scratchy friends will return (fleas & Ticks) so be prepared.

Regular daily grooming should naturally be enough as the environment then becomes unfriendly for them to live in. Some people say give your dog a small amount of garlic and he will not get fleas(not sure about that)

Regular grooming has always worked with my dogs so give that a try, if you use any other over the counter items be aware of what you are using as some of the stuff is quite lethal.

Anyway lets enjoy the first signs of spring.
